No classes Friday at Project ECHO Alternative School in Johnston City
JOHNSTON CITY, IL (KFVS)- Classes have been canceled Friday at Project ECHO Alternative School and for the StarQuest Regional Safe School Program located north of Johnston City, Illinois, according to Matt Donkin, Regional Superintendant of Schools.
Thursday afternoon, Donkin says an air conditioning unit malfunctioned causing smoke to go through the building.
Students and staff evacuated safely.
The building will be inspected on Friday and both schools are expected to resume on Monday.
