"The people of Southern Illinois have been very supportive of The Miners and we want to give back to them by helping with some of their needs," said Jayne Simmons, Owner of the Southern Illinois Miners. "I can't imagine the devastation the families of Harrisburg went through in February. As parents, my husband and I can understand the challenges of providing for our children. We thought a collection of back to school supplies would be perfect. Hopefully, this will make the transition of going back to school a little easier for the kids and their families."
The Southern Illinois Miners are asking all fans to come together and help the Harrisburg community. All fans who bring in school supplies will receive two box seat tickets, which can be used for the remaining games of the season.
