CARTERVILLE, IL (KFVS) - One hundred fifty thousand dollars have been given to several organizations after it was raised for the spring 2011 flood victims.

The Southern Illinois Together Flood Benefit Committee and the Poshard Foundation for Abused Children held a press conference Wednesday announcing the distribution of funds raised to benefit the spring 2011 flood victims. Twenty-one counties in southern Illinois were affected by the floods.

The S.I.T.F.B. Committee is a bipartisan committee organized by State Representatives Mike Bost, John Bradley, John Cavaletto, Brandon Phelps, and Dan Reitz (retired); and State Senators Gary Forby, John O. Jones, and David Luechtefeld in response to the spring floods.

According to the Poshard Foundation for Abused Children, the money was given to Anna Bixby Center – Harrisburg, Benton-West City Ministerial Alliance, Bethany Village, Anna Christian Community Compassion Center, Harrisburg Crosswalk Community Action Agency, Inc., West Frankfort COPE, Grantsburg Daystar Community Program, Cairo Delta Center, Inc., Cairo Family Counseling Center, Inc. – Vienna, Goreville Ministerial Alliance, Good Samaritan Food Pantry – Carbondale, Gum Drops, NFP – Carterville, Happy Helpers Pantry – Tamms, Herrin Community Pantry, Hurst Emergency Food Bank, Jefferson County Ministerial Association, Inc., Kitchen Table – Cairo, Lighthouse Shelter – Marion, Living Hope Fellowship - Grand Chain, Marion Ministerial Alliance, Matthew 25 Food Pantry – Carlyle, Murphysboro Food Pantry, Salem Ministerial Alliance, Shalom Food Pantry - Grand Tower, Shawnee Development Council, Inc. – Karnak, Southern Illinois Coalition for the Homeless – Marion, Southern Seven Health Department – Ullin, St. Joseph Church Food Pantry –Cobden, Victory Dream Center Food Pantry – Carbondale, Vienna Area Ministerial Alliance, Wabash Area Development, Inc. – Gallatin, Wabash, and White counties.
