WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS)- Kelly Huddleston, Coordinator of the Williamson County Emergency Management Agency was honored this past week in Springfield, Illinois.
According to a news release, Huddleston received the Illinois Professional Development Series (PDS) Certificate and Accreditation as an Illinois Professional Emergency Manager (IPEM).
The event known as the PDS/IPEM Reception is held annually during the Illinois Emergency Management Conference.
"As a member of the panel that reviews applicants to the professional development program, I can tell you, its not an easy process" said IESMA President Jonathan Buckingham "Before a person is accredited, they must truly demonstrate their commitment to the profession of Emergency Management, attend countless hours of training, and show professionalism in public service."
Huddleston was appointed as Williamson County's Emergency Management Coordinator earlier this year after the retirement of former Coordinator Steve Land.
