Lt. Gov. Simon to announce texting while driving initiative at John A. Logan College | Events

CARTERVILLE, IL (KFVS) - Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon will be at John A. Logan College Tuesday to announce a new community college outreach initiative against texting while driving.
Simon will join AT&T Illinois and John A. Logan College officials to announce the initiative with AT&T’s “It Can Wait” campaign against texting while driving.
Simon is scheduled to appear on the college campus at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Atrium, located downstairs in the main building.
AT&T Illinois’ Vice President for External Affairs, Jim Maurer, and JALC President, Dr. Mike Dreith are also scheduled to speak.
The AT&T “It Can Wait” campaign is focusing attention on Sept. 19 as “No Text on Board Pledge Day,” where the company is asking all drivers to take the pledge to never text and drive again.
