Man charged with not registering with authorities as a sex offender | Crime
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Williamson County Sheriff Bennie Vick says one man was arrested on charges of failing to register as a sex offender.
Vick says Eric Keibler was arrested and charged with failure to register as a sex offender and was taken to the Williamson County Jail on $1,000 cash bond.
The sheriff's office also did a county-wide check of 116 registered sex offenders in the county.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, along with the United States Marshal’s Service, Illinois State Police, Johnston City Police, Marion Police, and Cambria Police verified the registration information for 116 registered sex offenders.
The checks last week involved face-to-face conversations with the offender to ensure all the information given on the registration is correct.
Of the 116 offenders checked, 110 were in the county, according to Vick.
According to the sheriff, two offenders were out of compliance in ways that did not create a risk to the public. The State’s Attorney’s Office will decide whether or not to file charges in these cases.
Six offenders were not located, according to Vick.
Three offenders, Eugene Moran, Jason Graham, and Jared Jones were not located. Warrants will be sought for their arrest.
Jimmie Walker, Marion Lawrence, and Kevin Wells are all registered as homeless within the city of Marion and were not found.
Information and photographs of registered sex offenders may be found at the Illinois State Police Sex Offender Information website.
