HERRIN, IL (KFVS) - A Children's Miracle Network fundraiser event, "Everything Sugar and Spice," will be March 16 at the Herrin Civic Center.
For the past two decades, the Children's Miracle Network has teamed up with Miss America to raise awareness and funds for children around the country suffering from life threatening diseases. Organizers say they are incredibly excited to also be working closely with the Children's Miracle Network, the official national platform of Miss America's Outstanding Teen.
Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, Inc. is organized to encourage positive achievement by helping to nurture and build the scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement of our nation’s youth. The organization has implemented programs aimed at helping young people develop strong values, leadership skills, social conscience, self-worth and conviction about their own potential.
“Everything Sugar and Spice” is being planned and developed by pre-teen contestants Olivia Dean, 9, and Katie Gilpin, 10, both from Herrin, Ill.
They are looking for vendors to purchase a vendor table and are taking donations or items for a silent auction.
